Helping Us

We have an ‘Open Door’ policy at Hibaldstow Academy because we want parents to be fully involved in their children’s education.

We have a Foundation Stage induction meeting in July and a whole school Parents' Meeting at the beginning of the academic year. This gives parents and teachers an opportunity to meet and build effective relationships based on an understanding of expectations. Each class also produces a Curriculum Booklet each half term, informing you of topics to be covered and timetables.

We have two parents’ evenings per year, which are based on an appointment system. These are normally in the Autumn and Spring terms.

We invite parents to festivals, celebrations, weekly assemblies, sports days, concerts and carol services – to name but a few.  Also we have a very active Home and School Association, which helps to support the school by organising a wide variety of events and activities.  In the last few years they have helped to fund several larger projects such as Clevertouch boards in classrooms, playground equipment and the field Trim Trail.

Help is always appreciated in classes. If you would like to help in any class please contact the school. We are appreciative of parents with a talent or interest (sporting, artistic, craft, etc) to share. Parents helping in school will be asked to go through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to gain a DBS check certificate prior to being in school.

Our Business Manager Mrs M Powell is qualified to support/help individuals through this process.

Safeguarding children

Every school wants to keep its pupils safe, but it can be challenging to keep track of each parent, visitor, or maintenance worker who enters the building. Our Visitor Pass System is designed to streamline the visitor management process. The best part is that the added security of visitor ID stickers and log books helps keep every child safe.
